Ernest Hemingway's Narrative on Cuba, Prof. Mario Masvidal Saavedra

Guest lecture

Ernest Hemingway has been visiting Havana, Cuba, since 1928 to finally get settled there for nearly 22 years in which time he wrote two novels and four short stories (plus two fishing chronicles for American journals and magazines), all of them with Cuba as a setting. Was Cuba just another exotic scenario in Hemingway's life and ouevre? This and other related elements will be addressed in this presentation.
