Kulturcafete (Culture Café)
The Kulturcafete in the Nikolakloster building: Coffee and Culture
The Kulturcafete ('Culture Café) opened in the Nikolakloster building in summer semester 2011. Since the remit of the student services organisation includes promoting cultural events, students have access to two rooms for band practice, photo and video studios, as well as three club rooms and of course a stage for live performances.

Live music every Friday from 8:00 p.m. onwards!
Admission is free for most events! An admission fee may be charged for some events, e.g. theatre plays, but these will be advertised well in advance.

Opening hours
Opening hours of the Kulturcafete: Mon – Fri 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. Hours can be extended until midnight for individual events on request.
Mon – Fri from 5:00 p.m. onwards: extended drinks menu, snacks and simple hot meals, changing cultural programme.
The Kulturcafete is closed on public holidays and during semester break.
Available technical equipment
Stage: 6×3 m, black drapes at the back of the stage and on movable stands
Backstage room with makeup table and toilet.
Lighting: fully DMX-controllable LED spotlights on stands (6 small, 4 large), ceiling lights above the stage; small LEDs above the tables in the audience area; lighting control console available.
Sound: two amplification methods, ceiling-mounted speakers above the tables or stereo; mixing console available.
Projector available.
