Studying with success
From the life of a student: an example
After Marie completed her Abitur with an average of 1.6, she began her studies in business administration at the University of Passau two weeks ago. Although she enjoyed her first lectures and seminars, she is increasingly unsure whether she will be able to meet the requirements of her studies. The majority of her fellow students are already studying in their higher semesters and seem to have a complete overview. They are much more relaxed and impartial in their courses than Marie is. She increasingly doubts whether she has the prerequisites to succeed in her studies. She also wonders which abilities and skills are important and helpful for a successful study.
The pursuit of a successful course of study is of particular interest to you as a student. Success is measured for you primarily by good examination results in order to be able to start into the world of work with the best possible degree. But to what extent can success be planned? What qualities and skills do you need to have in order to study successfully? Is it possible to predict academic success? These are all questions that are relevant to you.
