Studying-as-a-Parent Award – apply until April 19, 2022!
The University of Passau awards the Studying-as-a-Parent Award (Studieren-mit-Kind-Preis) once per semester at all faculties. It honours the best graduates with children in each faculty who have completed their studies with above-average academic performance.
The prize money amounts to 500 euros each. With this award, the University of Passau honours the special commitment of student parents who have succeeded in combining child-rearing and successful studies. The application deadline is April 19, 2022.

Ukraine relief fund for students and researchers - apply now until April 6, 2022!
In response to the war in the Ukraine, the University of Passau has set up a Ukraine relief fund from which emergency aid for students and researchers can be issued. Applications are still possible until April 6, 2022.

Short-term care on campus for students' children from April 20, 2022
We are happy to announce that after a break of about two years, the short-term childcare at the campus will be resumed!
We welcome Daniela Leirich as a new member of our team: As a pedagogical specialist, she will run the short-term childcare on the campus of the University of Passau. Initially, the offer is only aimed at student parents who have a need for childcare - especially if they are unable to organise an alternative care option for their child for the duration of a course.
The maximum care time is 5 hours per child and per week. The use of the childcare service is free of charge for students.
It is necessary to send your request as early as possible to familienservice@uni-passau.de. Please include the following information in your mail:
• Your first and last name(s);
• Your field of study and matriculation number;
• Your cell phone number;
• Your child(ren)'s first and last name(s);
• The date of birth of your child(ren);
• Special needs of your child(ren) (e.g. regarding feeding, diapering, allergies, etc.);
• Date and time (from time to time) for the required short-term care (!);
• The reason for the needed short-term care (e.g. exam and no alternative care);
• A sentence stating that you agree to this data being passed on to third parties within the Diversity and Equality Unit.
Erasmus+ - Special funding for students with children
Students with a child studying abroad under the Erasmus+ program have the opportunity to apply for special funding as a grant to cover additional costs. In addition to the regular funding rate of the Erasmus+ program, students with one or more children receive a top-up of 200 euros per month.

Parenting Course "Strong Parents - Strong Children" (German)
The Kinderschutzbund Passau and the educational counseling center of Caritas Passau offer the parenting course "Strong Parents - Strong Children" for parents of children of puberty age. The course will start from May 3, 2022 in presence and offers practical and interactive tips as well as a forum for exchange with other parents. The course will be held in German.

The German Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth has, as part of the project "Pausentaste.
