University crèche: New kitchen from fall 2021
Since this month it is official: In agreement with the President of the University of Passau, Prof. Dr. Ulrich Bartosch, the university crèche (Unikinderkrippe) "Krümelkiste" will probably get a new kitchen this fall. As soon as this is operational, the lunch for the children will be prepared by the crèche team itself and directly on site, fresh and suitable for children. Only vegetarian food will be offered.
In addition, the Unikinderkrippe will welcome a housekeeper to its team. This person will then take over the preparation of all meals in the facility.
More information about the Unikinderkrippe can be found on the website of Campuskinder e. V. and on the website of the city of Passau.
Family at university: online survey for fathers
As part of our exchange in the network "Familie in der Hochschule e. V. " we would like to draw your attention to a current research project at the TU Braunschweig: The team of the research project "You don't need to be Superheroes - Diverse life situations of fathers" is interested in what moves fathers today. They want to find out what is important to fathers for their child(ren), what they want from their environment, employers and politicians, and how they combine career and family.
To the ten-minute anonymous online survey

Bavarian Youth Welfare Office: "BAER - Bayerischer Erziehungsratgeber" (Bavarian Educational Guide)
The new Bavarian Guide to Raising Children, or BAER for short, is designed to give families and guardians concrete tips on many issues related to raising children. With a broad digital offering, the portal www.baer.bayern.de provides information on educational, medical, psychological, legal and practical content, from the time before birth through to adolescence.
The online parenting guide was published by the Bavarian Youth Welfare Office and is sponsored by the Bavarian Ministry of Social Affairs.
Federal Government: Bill to introduce a legal entitlement to all-day childcare for primary school children
On May 5, 2021, the German government created the conditions for implementing a structural improvement in the compatibility of family and career and for more equal opportunities in education. The legal entitlement to all-day care for children of elementary school age can finally close a care gap that opens up again for many families after daycare when their children start school.
The goal: from August 2029, every elementary school child in grades 1 to 4 should have a right to full-day care, and from August 2026, initially all children in the first grade.
For more information, see the press release from the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ).
