Closing event on 9 February
Every age has its own potentials, challenges, notions, hopes and visions. Our outlook on the future is an essential factor in our personal, entrepreneurial or institutional and social actions and investments. This, coupled with prevailing circumstances, contributes to the establishment of institutions such as Passau's Jesuit college 400 years ago or to strategic repositioning today – for example at the University of Passau.
Starting with a look at selected historical conceptions of the future, Dr Rupert Hofmann will speak about the core statements, assumptions and narratives of today's foresight work and discuss the findings of various studies on future living environments as well as the topic of “Conceptions of the future as a drive: How do we want to live tomorrow?”.
Rupert Hofmann works for Audi Business Innovation GmbH in the area of trend research and is an observational draughtsman. He studied at the Munich Art Academy, the University of Passau, Columbia University in New York and the University of Juiz de Fora in Brazil. During his work at Audi he initiated Foresight Academy, a cross-industry futures platform examining the drivers of change and possible future living environments.
The lecture will take place on 9 February starting 6 p.m. in lecture theatre 9 (Audimax Building, Innstrasse 31). This event will conclude the series “400 Years of Academic Tradition in Passau – from Jesuit College to Modern University”. You are all cordially invited to join us! Prior registration is not required.
