Professor Robert Obermaier, Vice President (Research) and holder of the Chair of Accounting and Control, said: ‘We’re delighted with this outstanding result, because it confirms what the University of Passau stands for: practical relevance and research excellence. Professor Markus Diller, holder of the Chair of Tax Management, added, ‘The survey conducted among accountancy practices shows that an important industry – with whom we also work in close cooperation – sees us as a top university and that we are having a positive impact.’
Manager Magazin publishes the rankings in conjunction with Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft für Management und Beratung mbH (WGMB). 51 accountancy firms took part in the survey used to compile the list ‘The Practices’ Favourites’ in which the University of Passau was ranked ninth. The University of Passau also achieved 14th place and was classed as ‘very good’ in the list ‘Passed with distinction’, for which feedback from nearly 900 additional clients was collected.
