Pursuant to Art. 4(1) of the Bavarian Higher Education Innovation Act (Bayerisches Hochschulinnovationsgesetz, BayHIG), the University of Passau (Universität Passau), as a higher education institution of the Free State of Bavaria (Freistaat Bayern), is a corporation under public law and, at the same time, a state institution. The supervisory authority is the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts (Bayerisches Staatsministerium für Wissenschaft und Kunst) in Munich (address: Salvatorstr. 2, 80333 Munich).
The University of Passau (Universität Passau) is legally represented by the Chair of the University Executive, Professor Jan Hendrik Schumann. The president is the person responsible within the meaning of Section 5 of the draft Digital Services Act (Digitales-Dienste-Gesetz, DDG-RefE). Responsibility for contributions identified by name or bearing a separate legal notice lies with the respective authors.
