Accessibility statement
The University of Passau makes every effort to make its website accessible without barriers – including in the mobile views – in accordance with the Bavarian e-government ordinance (BayEGovV).
This declaration on accessibility applies to all websites of the domain https://www.uni-passau.de that are implemented with the content management system TYPO3.
Status of compatibility with the requirements
The University of Passau's website, including its mobile web views, largely complies with the requirements of § 1 BayBITV. The contents or functions that do not match are listed below.
Non-accessible contents
Away from the main pages, alternative text content for images and tables is sometimes missing. Tables may also be incorrectly formatted and markings for language and abbreviations may not be complete. On the non-central pages, there may also be errors in the content hierarchy or links may be incomprehensible.
Not all documents are available in an accessible version.
Subtitles or transcriptions are currently not always available for embedded videos.
The website is not available in simple language or sign language.
Disproportionate burden
As a university, we have a very extensive and heterogeneous web presence, which makes errors not entirely avoidable.
Various contents from file formats from office applications (PDF files) created before 23 September 2018 could not be converted at present. In some cases (especially in the case of old official notices, annual reports or bulletins, which are only available in paper form), digitisation and subsequent correction into an accessible format is currently not possible.
The provision of the videos with audio transcriptions has not yet been completed due to the size of the video archive.
Preparation of this accessibility statement
This statement was prepared on 27 April 2020 in consultation with the Vice President for Academic Infrastructure/IT, Professor Harald Kosch.
The University of Passau warrants, pursuant to Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1523 of the EU Commission, that the statements made in this declaration regarding compliance with the requirements of Directive (EU) 2016/2102 are accurate and based on a self-assessment carried out by the University of Passau.
This declaration was last reviewed on 23 April 2020.
