Executive Support Unit for Competency Development in Study and Teaching (KSL)
The Executive Support Unit for Competency Development in Study and Teaching (“Kompetenzentwicklung Studium und Lehre”, KSL) is a central unit of the University of Passau that has as its goal to bundle and strengthen the competencies of our university in the areas of degree programme development and teaching. The KSL reports directly to the Vice President for Studies, Teaching, Ethics and Quality Assurance, Professor Bettina Noltenius. It was established under the university accord with the Free State of Bavaria for 2023–27 and is crucial for coordinating and dovetailing the areas of degree programme development, teaching and university didactic practice and research.
We are dedicated to cross-faculty and University-wide cooperation to create new organisational structures as well as opportunities for exchange and encounters. These serve as quality assurance instruments for degree-programme development and provide impetus for the continuous improvement of study conditions and university education. Furthermore, we coordinate didactic support offerings for university teachers as well as development measures with a view towards integrating these into the quality-assurance process in the areas of studying and teaching.
