Erasmus+ enables further education and training measures of higher education staff in program countries to expand internationalization.
Staff from a German higher education institution with an ECHE can be sent to a higher education institution with an ECHE or to another institution based in another program country that is active in the labor market or in the fields of education, training or youth for the purpose of further training.
The stays abroad last a minimum of two days and a maximum of two months.
Information on the application procedure can be obtained from Stefanie Dallmeier during a personal interview. Please make an appointment. Applications can be submitted on an ongoing basis.
Please note: All necessary documents must be submitted no later than 6 weeks before departure!
The accommodation costs, including accommodation allowance, depend on the number of days spent at the receiving institution plus, if necessary, an additional day for arrival and departure. The unit cost per day depends on the destination country and the length of stay; from the 15th day onwards the rate is reduced.
Country groups according to funding rates in project 2024 + 2025 (Ends in 2026):
The travel expenses are calculated based on distance as the crow flies determined with the European Commission Distance Calculator and are reimbursed as follows:
| Travel Distance | Standard Travel | Green Travel |
|---|---|---|
| 10 - 99 km | 28 EUR | 56 EUR |
| 100 - 499 km | 211 EUR | 285 EUR |
| 500 - 1.999 km | 309 EUR | 417 EUR |
| 2.000 - 2.999 km | 395 EUR | 535 EUR |
| 3.000 - 3.999 km | 580 EUR | 785 EUR |
| 4.000 - 7.999 km | 1.188 EUR | 1.188 EUR |
| 8.000 km and more: | 1.735 EUR | 1.735 EUR |
The total amount is calculated from the travel costs plus the unit costs multiplied by the number of days spent abroad. For green travel (e.g., Interrail), up to four additional travel days can also be subsidized. A brief written justification is required for this. Ideally, the money is paid in advance and only confirmed with the business travel statement.
Please remember to settle your business trip within 45 days of your return from abroad; otherwise your entitlement to funding will lapse.
If exceptionally high additional costs arise during a stay abroad due to a disability or chronic illness, or because a child is accompanying the participant for the entire duration of the stay, an individual application can also be submitted in which the actual costs are taken into account. The application must be submitted at least three months before the start of the mobility. For the application and further information, please contact Stefanie Dallmeier.
Participants (students and university staff) with a disability (degree of disability of 20 or higher) or with a chronic illness may apply for a preparatory visit in order to explore the local conditions in advance as preparation for an already approved mobility.
If the standard travel allowance demonstrably covers less than 70% of the actual travel expenses, exceptional support for expensive travel may be requested. In such cases, up to 80% of the actual travel expenses may be subsidized. This subsidy then replaces the standard travel allowance. An application can be submitted to Franziska Hanisch.
The selection for Erasmus+ mobility activities for teaching staff and administrative personnel is carried out on an ongoing basis through the evaluation of all submitted applications.
The decision on funding is made based on the following criteria:
