Titel: Studying Chinese Language History with Rhyme Networks
Zusammenfassung: The history of the Chinese language is intertwined and complicated. In order to study how the diversity of Chinese dialects that we can observe today has evolved, scholars now have begun to use specific corpus-based approaches by which patterns of rhymes in ancient poetry collections dating back several thousand years can be investigated. In the talk, new findings and new approaches will be presented and discussed.
