Childcare

The Caritas forest kindergarten at the University of Passau in Ingling opened its doors in September 2024.

The forest kindergarten is a project of the university management, in cooperation with the Caritas Association for the Diocese of Passau e. V.

There are 20 childcare places for children from the age of 3 until they start school. Children of university employees and students are given priority, remaining places are filled with children from outside the university.

The Passau university crèche “Krümelkiste” is located on the campus grounds. There are two groups, each with twelve children aged from 8 months to 3 years. Preference is given to children of university members, especially students. Registrations are possible throughout the year. Please request a place early!

Daniela Leirich is a pedagogical specialist who provides short-term childcare on the University of Passau campus. The service is initially only aimed at student parents who have a childcare shortage - especially if they are unable to organize alternative childcare for their child for the duration of a course.
The maximum care time is 5 hours per child per week. The childcare service is free of charge for students.
