Prof. Dr. Robert Obermaier, Vice President for Research, emphasizes the importance of this cooperation for both University and Transfer Centre, the latter being responsible for Business Start-up Support and so providing support for our teams during the competition:
"The University of Passau wants to intensify itssupport of the topic of entrepreneurship in an international context. With the Danube Cup, we are taking an important step towards this direction. The Danube Cup is a great initiative from among our international partners, which we are happy to support as a startup-friendly and startup-affine university."
Apart from the University of Passau, the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, the Corvinus University of Budapest, the University of Belgrade, the Vienna University of Economics and Business, the Johannes Kepler University Linz and the OTH Regensburg and are cooperating universities for the Danube Cup 2021.
For the start-up teams the competition offers a unique chance to gain professional experience and seize invaluable business networking opportunities. The competing teams will also be inspired and mentored by renowned entrepreneurs, investors, and incubation and accelerator program leaders. All this will take place within the scope of an international competition in which the start-ups will compete with like-minded students.
The finals of Danube Cup 2021 are to be held in two rounds throughout April, the first one being a semi-final event on April 8th. The second one, being the final pitch of Danube Cup 2021, is going to take place on April 21st in the framework of Budapest Startup Safari.
