As of today, all students and staff members of the University of Passau have access to BibBot, the University Library’s AI-based chatbot. To use BibBot, simply log in at https://bibbot.uni-passau.de/ using your ZIM credentials. You can also find it on our landing page and in our contact information.
BibBot serves as a virtual information assistant that can answer your questions about the University Library’s services and resources around the clock. The chatbot’s responses are based on verified information from our website; literature searches for individual titles in our collection are not part of its feature set. In addition to the integrated feedback functions, you can also contact our support team directly in any chat session by selecting “Create Ticket”.
To mark the launch of BibBot, the University Library is hosting a prize draw open to all students who wish to test the chatbot. Among all participants, a “Bibbag” will be awarded as the main prize, along with book vouchers worth €15 and €20.
Take the opportunity to try out BibBot and participate in the prize draw by following these steps:
- Start a new chat with BibBot and ask a question.
- Create a ticket for the University Library by clicking the “Create Ticket” button below the chatbot’s response.
- A new window will open. In the text field “Additional Context (optional)”, enter the keyword “#gewinnspiel”.
- Click “Create Ticket Text” and then “Submit Ticket” in the next window.
By completing these steps, you will be entered into the prize draw.
The submission deadline is 21 April 2026.
