The Sustainability Day is one of the highlights of our festive programme series "400 Years of Academic Tradition in Passau", which addresses the challenges of the present and looks to the future: We hereby cordially invite all university members to the Sustainability Day on Thursday, 20 October at 6 p.m. in the Audimax lecture theatre at Innstrasse 31. Bavarian State Minister for the Environment and Consumer Protection, Thorsten Glauber, will be attending virtually.
To coincide with this first Sustainability Day at the University of Passau, we are officially unveiling our Sustainability Hub, one of three new science forums at the University. This new hub will provide accentuated visibility for the University's sustainability focus, while facilitating the bundling of internal synergies, enhancing networking activity as well as the University's general presence in this area, both in Germany and in the international arena. The award-giving ceremony for special services to sustainability at to the University of Passau will be part of the event day. The honorary chairman of BUND Naturschutz in Bayern, Professor Hubert Weiger, who co-founded the Bund für Umwelt und Naturschutz Deutschland (BUND) in 1975, will give the keynote speech. The keynote will be entitled "Nachhaltigkeit – notwendiger denn je" ("sustainability – more necessary than ever").
To help us plan the event, please register by 10 October 2022.
We look forward to you celebrating with us! (Please note that the event will be held in German.)
