Two events will kick off the Passau Politics Days one week before the main series of events:
On 19 May (18:00 – 19:30, in lecture theatre 13), the University will be hosting the German public broadcaster ARD’s live podcast "Hateland” [German content] and open the series with a live, public broadcast on how citizens from the mainstream of society become suspected enemies of the state – specifically making reference to the “Reuss group” (a network of far-right extremists, whose members were arrested in 2022 for conspiracy to overthrow the government).
On 21 May (18:00 – 22:00), the Theatercafé (at Unterer Sand 2) will host a political open mic [German content] with students, lecturers and student societies. In short contributions, different perspectives on social developments will be discussed with reference to the key question "Where is society drifting?".
Both events invite you to engage with the topics of the Passau Politics Days in the run-up to the main programme and enter into an open discussion.
