This applies equally to students, staff and visitors, and is indicated by the “No dogs” stickers affixed at all building entrances. The ban is in place to help ensure a clean, hygienic and distraction-free working and learning environment for all university members; it is also intended to protect people with animal allergies or those who have a fear of animals. Exceptions are made for assistance dogs, such as guide dogs for the blind or mobility assistance dogs for people with disabilities.
If you have a certificate in accordance with the Behindertengleichstellungsgesetz (act on equal opportunities of persons with disabilities, BGG) or the assistance dog ordinance (AHundV), please contact the Buildings and Estates Section to register your assistance dog and obtain written authorisation. You must carry this authorisation with you whenever you are in a university building with your assistance dog.
