Join us at the University of Passau!

We are pleased to invite you to the University of Passau in Bavaria, Germany, for a vibrant and intellectually engaging conference set in one of Europe’s most scenic university towns. Located at the confluence of the Danube, Inn, and Ilz rivers and just a short distance from the Austrian border, Passau combines academic excellence with a unique cultural and natural environment.

How to get to Passau

Address of the Conference location:

  • Faculty of Business Administration and Economics, Innstraße 27, 94032 Passau

Getting there by train:

  • The Venue is located within a 15-20 minute walk from Passau Central Station (Passau Hbf). Information on train travel from within Germany can be found on the Deutsche Bahn website. Travelers arriving from Austria can find all the necessary information on the ÖBB website. For travelers considering booking an ICE (Intercity-Express) connection, or for longer distances in general, it is advisable to book tickets well in advance for better availability and potentially lower fares.
  • Please note: Due to the general renovation of the rail network, some routes are unavailable. This includes the route from Nuremberg to Passau. Travelers must either go via Munich or use the rail replacement service (buses).

Getting there by bus:

  • Due to the extensive renovation work and the associated costs, it may be advisable to travel by long-distance bus instead of by train. You can find information on connections and fares on the Flixbus website.

Getting there by plane:

  • The nearest airports are located in Munich and Vienna. From these airports, you can easily travel to Passau by train.
  • From Munich Airport, the train journey to Passau requires one train change in Landshut and takes approximately 2.5 hours with regional trains. Tickets can be conveniently purchased online, at Deutsche Bahn ticket machines, or as an e-ticket via the Deutsche Bahn app, even shortly before departure. Ticket prices typically start around €32.00.
  • For Train travel from Vienna International Airport, ÖBB: You can find all the necessary information here. The train journey from Vienna Airport also requires a transfer, depending on the ticket, either at Vienna Central Station (Wien Hbf) or in Linz. The travel time is between 3 and 3.5 hours. Tickets are available as e-tickets through the ÖBB website and typically cost around €65.40. Please be aware that border controls by the German Federal Police may occur when traveling from Vienna.

Getting there by car:

  • Arrival by car is possible. Parking will be available in the underground parking garage at the Venue.
