La Dra. Venus dirige el grupo de investigación de Economía de la Bioeconomía. Su investigación se centra en los campos de la economía ecológica, la economía agrícola y la economía del desarrollo, con especial atención a la valoración medioambiental, la gobernanza de la cadena de valor, la aceptación pública y la financiación de nuevas tecnologías, así como la evaluación de impacto.
Obtuvo su doctorado (Dr. rer. pol) en Economía por la Universidad Técnica de Munich (Alemania). Tras completar su doctorado, trabajó como investigadora postdoctoral en la Universidad Técnica de Múnich (2022-2023). En marzo de 2023, asumió el cargo de Jefa del Grupo de Investigación de Economía de la Bioeconomía en la Universidad de Passau.
