On Thursday, May 23, 2024, our PhD student, Franziska Jäckel, presented her latest research at the research colloquium from the chair of Critical Development Studies at the University of Passau.
Her presentation, titled "Agricultural Development, the Bioeconomy, and Livelihood Vulnerability in Mobile Rural Communities," drew on two case studies in Ghana.Franziska shared findings from her master's thesis, which explored the complex interactions between climate change, migration, and livelihood vulnerability among rural Ghanaian households through the lens of translocality.
Additionally, she provided preliminary insights from her qualitative case study in Ghana, conducted as part of the ReValueD project. This research focuses on the main challenges faced by smallholder farmers in the tropical fruit sector, with a particular emphasis on their residue management practices.
