FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Does the conference have fees?

There are no conference fees.

Will food be served?

During the breaks, snacks and beverages will be provided free of charge. All food will be vegetarian or vegan. The optional dinners on Monday and Tuesday evening are to be paid by participants. We have arranged a smaller menu with a better price package for conference participants at both restaurants.

Does the conference require full papers?

No. Full papers are not required. We will only list the title in the program. Extended abstracts will be used for review and planning and will not be published.

What is the Ecological Economics Special Issue Workshop?

This is an optional add on workshop on the afternoon of September 30. Invitations will be sent separately. Full papers are not required. The workshop will bring together selected contributors to discuss the planned special issue, receive feedback, and develop paper ideas before formal submission. This does not guarantee publication in the Special Issue as all papers will undergo peer review.

How long should each presentation be?

Each session lasts 90 minutes and includes four presentations. Please plan for a 15-minute presentation, followed by around 5 minutes for questions and discussion.

How will the presentation sessions work?

Each room will have a conference computer, and a conference volunteer will be there to assist with the technology. Please bring your slides as a PDF or PowerPoint file on a USB stick. We recommend that all presenters arrive a few minutes early to upload their presentation before the session starts. Session chairs will keep time and use time cards (will already be provided in each room) to indicate how much time remains.

Where should I stay?

We have reserved room blocks at several hotels in Passau for conference participants. Passau is a small city, so many places are accessible by foot or a short bus ride. The hotels will hold these rooms and offer reduced rates until July 31. Prices vary by hotel. Please see the full list below and use the reference code listed for the hotel when booking.
