Inspire without limits: a common European message to STEM women
March 8th is International Women's Day, and therefore exactly the right day to show the strong solidarity of women in computer science and mathematics at the University of Passau. The “FIM women” campaign for equal rights for women in all areas of the faculty. Female colleagues and students mutually support each other in their work and thus create a women-friendly working atmosphere. With the photo campaign they show WHO they are, how MANY they are and with how much MOTIVATION and EXCITEMENT they stand behind what they do – to INSPIRE other women.
What does it mean to be a woman who has an academic career in mathematics or computer science?
On March 8th from 4pm to 6pm we are organising our third meeting of the MINT women’s network. On the occasion of International Women's Day, this Zoom meeting will be something special as it is entirely dedicated to a panel discussion. The speakers are Prof. Forster-Heinlein (University of Passau), Prof. Mougeot (ENSIIE and ENS Paris Saclay) and Prof. Kavun (University of Passau). Everyone interested is welcome to join. Registration takes place via Stud.IP, we ask external participants to register by e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org.

On International Women's Day, we would like to emphasize the importance of the French-German friendship and the major role of academic exchange between our two countries, illustrated by the fruitful partnership between the University of Passau (Axelle Cheney) and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Informatique pour l'Industrie et l'Entreprise Paris (ENSIIE, Prof. Mougeot). May these cultural exchanges keep inspiring young people, especially girls, to follow the invitation of Kamala Harris:
Dream with ambition,
lead with conviction,
and see yourself in a way
that others may not,
simply because they’ve never seen it before.
