Goats play an important role in rural culture in Ghana. They are adapted to the harsh environmental conditions and provide food and income for the people. The milk of goats is used for products such as butter, yogurt and cheese, while their meat is valued in traditional dishes. The breeding and sale of goats provide financial security for farmers, and they also serve as a means of payment. During our research trip, we encountered goats everywhere: at the market, on the street, in the bushes, or just relaxing on a wall.
