The main facilities and services
The Language Centre offers students the possibility to learn one or more foreign languages in conventional language courses or as part of a special subject-specific language programme tailored to their respective degree programmes. The languages offered include European languages and more exotic fare, such as Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese and Indonesia.
The University Library holds a vast range of academic literature and journals. And if you need something that isn't available on-site, you can always borrow it by inter-library loan.
The Future: Careers and Competencies Section supports students in their own personal and professional development at all stages of their career planning: use the Competency Navigator to test your skills and abilities, attend competency seminars and computer courses or get advice on how to find internships or other jobs and get help finding prospective employers.
At the University of Passau you don't have to be a sports student to get fit! Staff and students alike are free to use the Sports Centre facilities and participate in the vast range of different sports courses offered.
Central facilities and services of the University
The Student Services Association, 'Studentenwerk' in German, is responsible for the day-to-day running of the refectory and cafeterias, halls of residence, as well as giving welfare advice, supporting cultural events and advising on student loans and grants.
