At the end of September, we had the pleasure of welcoming our #Revalued project partners from the Centro de Investigación, Transferencia de Tecnología y Educación para el Centro de Investigación y Transferencia en Innovación Agroindustrial (CITIAG) de la Universidad Técnica Nacional (UTN), Lilliana Rodríguez Barquero and Carlos Mora to Passau.Together, we visited a Bavarian biogas plant converting maize and manure into renewable energy, and the Bavarian Center for Agricultural Research, where robots and soil erosion studies are shaping the future of farming. We also shared results from our Costa Rica study on Bioeconomy animal feed preferences by Maria Guadalupe Carcache and learned about Dra. Rodríguez’s ongoing project on how circular bioeconomy models can drive a fair and sustainable transition in Costa Rica’s Huetar Norte region. This was an inspiring dialogue on how local contexts shape the bioeconomy development in Costa Rica. The exchange reminded us that innovation thrives when knowledge crosses borders. We are grateful to collaborate with UTN, a pioneer institution in implementing regional Bioeconomy solutions.
