Our PhD student, Daphne Santiago, presented on the bioeconomy and her study on consumer valuation and preferences for peat alternatives using a choice experiment conducted in Germany. The event was organized by the Visayas Socio-Economic Data Analytics Center at Visayas State University, Baybay City, Leyte, Philippines, on February 21, 2025. It was mainly attended by undergraduate and graduate students in Economics.
The lecture aimed to introduce the concept of bioeconomy and its connection to environmental issues through her study on consumer valuation and preferences for peat alternatives. It also provided students with an overview of choice experiments. Furthermore, the session sought to inspire students in their thesis work and encourage them to pursue graduate studies.
