I am PhD student at the Chair of Development Economics, where I conduct research on the empirical analysis of conflict and crime in the Global South using causal inference, quasi-experimental methods and geospatial analysis. My goal is to quantify the effects of these phenomena on different development indicators and to study their causal mechanisms.

Dr. Dörte Leusmann
Research Affiliate with Prof. Dr. Carolin Häussler
Faculty of Business, Economics and Information Systems
As a postdoctoral researcher at the University of St. Gallen and Research Affiliate at the Chair of Organisation, Technology Management and Entrepreneurship I am investigating how organisations collaborate and how this collaboration changes over time. My research centres on a unique dataset of strategic alliances in the biopharmaceutical industry. My approach is interdisciplinary: I examine how partners negotiate meaning, shape expectations and enable innovation through language, for example in contracts and press releases. To this end, I combine quantitative and qualitative methods with the analysis of large text datasets.
