On December 17th Master student Armando Gaetaniello will present his lately completed thesis work and hand over his collected data to the BioDIVA team in Hannover.
Gaetaniello, who is a student in the Master programme “Global Change Management” of the University of Sustainable Development in Eberswalde, Germany, was collaborating with BioDIVA research project for his thesis supervised by BioDIVA Research Coordinator Dr. Nidhi Nagabhatla.
Working title of his Master's thesis was "How climate changes are likely to impact on the local agro biodiversity and livelihoods (case study: Wayanad Agro ecosystem of Kerala, India)?"
He has been complementing the research of the BioDIVA team by focusing on the interactions between the local changing climate, the agro-ecosystem of Wayanad and its agro-biodiversity.
The key objective of his research outline was to foster the local farmers adaptation to changing rainfall and temperature patterns. The methodological framework was based on statistical work as well as participatory perspectives on local climate impacts.
