Diversity, Gender & Intersectionality
Heterogeneity and diversity are inherent aspects of pluralistic societies and a globalised world. Concepts of gender, diversity and intersectionality not only shape academic discourse but, nowadays, also enrich and inspire a vast range of social debates. The transdisciplinary series “Diversity, Gender & Intersectionality” discusses the relevance of these concepts from the viewpoints of different academic disciplines and through different thematic lenses – and thereby re-examines the current state of the science and the connectivity of these concepts to public discourses and practices. While sounding out the potential of intersectional gender and diversity research across a wide array of social, legal, media, political, economic, social and technological contexts, these concepts are analysed diachronically and synchronously to reveal their historical genesis.
Each volume stands on its own and reveals various facets of these complex thematic and research areas.
The series is intended for academics and students of all academic discipline. It is edited by the University Women's Officer (Professor Andrea Sieber) and the Vice President for International Affairs and Diversity (Professor Christina Hansen) of the University of Passau.
