Diversity Day 2023
Nationwide Day of Activities 23.05.2023
On the nationwide Diversity Day 2023 the University of Passau introduced the annual Science Slam Diversity.
Science Slam Diversity 2023
What is a Science Slam?
A science slam offers the unique opportunity to present your own research area or project to the audience in a lively and entertaining way within a short space of time. Creativity in the presentation is expressly encouraged - because science can also be fun!
All participants will have 8 minutes to present their research topic and, above all, to convince the audience.

At the Science Slam Diversity on the Diversity Day 2023, four slammers presented their research to the Passau audience in just 10 minutes.
With her contribution "Codeversum - Discover the Universe", Daniela Polzer gave insights into an exciting project that teaches schoolchildren about programming in a playful way.
Prof. Dr. Karsten Fitz gave an impression of US-American culture and the myth of the "level-playing field" with "The American Dream as a 'method' of structural discrimination?!".
Hanna Augustin focused directly on the University of Passau by comparing our University's guideline with other German universities in her contribution "Guidelines for gender-equitable language at German universities or: Does the University of Passau need a new gender guideline?".
Prof. Dr. Susanne Hartwig's contribution showed with "Leading roles! People with 'mental' disabilities on stage and screen" how diverse media their representations can be in film and theatre.
Many thanks for the great insights and the entertaining and creative introduction to these topics!
We also thank the bookstore Pustet and Mymuesli for sponsoring the prizes.
