Of the 11,588 students currently enrolled, 771 are new students in their first semester of studies. This compares to 11,784 students (880 of them new students) in April of last year. While the overall figure has declined slightly by 200 year-on-year, the number of enrolled international students has risen by 116 to a new total of 952, bringing the proportion of international students on campus to slightly above eight percent. At the same time, the enrolment figure for the University's master's programmes has increased by approximately nine percent and is now at 1,690. These numbers are preliminary at the time of writing.

'We are delighted to have attracted excellent students to our University,' said President Carola Jungwirth and expressed her wish that all students will make good use of their time at the University to gain a solid education and use the opportunities that present themselves for establishing their national and international networks.
