Appeal for donations for the earthquake relief effort
The University is deeply saddened by the terrible consequences of the earthquake in the Turkish-Syrian border region. Our deepest sympathy is with all those affected: We mourn with you for your lost relatives and friends.

Our thoughts are also with our partner university TDU in Istanbul, whose members have many connections to the disaster area. President Professor Ulrich Bartosch has written to President Yildiz and the university executive to express our sympathy.
Rapid help for the people in the affected regions is urgently needed. We therefore strongly support the appeal for donations of the German Red Cross (DRK) [German content]. Your donations will be used to bring emergency relief to the region through the support of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement in both countries.
