Consul General Vermeij was welcomed by University President Carola Jungwirth, Vice President for International Relations Ursula Reutner and professors and academics of the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics, the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Business, Economics and Information Systems, who briefed him on the ongoing co-operative partnerships in research and teaching. Both sides affirmed their intention to redouble their joint research partnerships, particularly in the area of digitalisation.
The University of Passau maintains student and academic exchange partnerships with Universiteit Leiden, Radboud University Nijmegen and Hogeschool Inholland Amsterdam, not to mention the vibrant exchanges between Passau's and Dutch student societies and organisations.
In the area of research, the University of Passau collaborates in a number of international projects with Dutch universities and research institutions. Professors Oliver Amft (Chair of Sensor Technology), Michael Grimm (Chair of Development Economics), Christoph Herrmann (Chair of Constitutional and Administrative Law, Public International Law, European and International Economic Law) and Björn Schuller (Chair of Complex and Intelligent Systems) presented some of their ongoing research projects in their respective disciplines.
