Until January 2024, the price stood at 51.14 cents per kilowatt-hour (ct/kWh); it has since been reduced to 39.77 ct/kWh. As of 1 July 2026, the University will have to raise the price to 68.10 ct/kWh in order to cover its costs. The surcharge of 5.00 ct/kWh from the 241st minute onwards, which had been introduced when EV charging was first rolled out at the University, has since been abolished.
Please note that charging electric vehicles via standard mains sockets is not permitted anywhere on the University's campus.
As we have received a number of enquiries on this matter, we should also point out that we are unable to offer electric vehicle roaming, as the University’s car parks are not designated as public – a fundamental requirement on the part of e-mobility providers for roaming.
