What is it like to go to school in another country?
In a special edition of the lecture series “Global Classrooms: Educational Journeys – Share Your Story,” Marieanne Gilliat-Smith, Team Coordinator of the English Language Unit at the Language Centre, will report live from England on her sabbatical year.
In addition to offering personal insights into her own educational background, she will provide a well-informed overview of the British school system and reflect on her current teaching experience at a school north of London. She is currently completing her teacher training (PGCE) as a teacher of German as a Foreign Language (GFL).
The project is aimed at pre-service teachers and other interested participants who wish to explore international education systems from a subjective yet professionally relevant perspective while further developing their English-language skills.
The presentations, learning nuggets, and question-and-answer sessions are conducted in a peer-to-peer format (from students for students) and in English.
