The 9th European Conference of Tropical Ecology (ECTE) will be held at the University of Passau from February 23 to 27, 2026 under the theme ‘Species - Ecosystems - People’.

Contributions are welcome that address ecological topics, but also shed light on the diverse interactions between humans and tropical species and ecosystems - for example from the perspectives of land use, economics, climate policy, nature conservation or sustainability.

The conference is organized by the Chair of Physical Geography with a focus on human-environment research (Prof. Dr. Christine Schmitt).
