The University of Passau is further expanding its international degree programme: Starting summer semester 2026, the master's degree programme in Information Systems can be studied entirely in English for the first time. The content of the now established degree programme has been revised and its modern major/minor structure offers the opportunity to flexibly combine different main and secondary subjects. The practical curriculum of the degree programme was developed in cooperation with companies and provides optimal preparation for demanding positions. Applications will be accepted starting November 2025.

Students in the new master's programme can specialise in the areas of “Artificial Intelligence and Data-Driven Business” and “Information Systems Management”. Their profile can be complemented by a wide range of elective modules in the minor area – from sustainability and entrepreneurship to marketing. In addition, students can even take interdisciplinary courses from the entire range of master's courses offered by the University of Passau, which is unique for an Information Systems degree programme in Germany.

“Digitalisation requires specialists who combine technical know-how with business management thinking – and in an international context”, says Professor Jin Gerlach, holder of the Chair of Data and Information Management, who heads the degree programme together with Professor Jan Krämer, holder of the Chair of Internet and Telecommunications Business. "Our new curriculum prepares students specifically for these challenges. By choosing between the major and supplementary minor programmes, they can develop individual skills profiles."

Online applications for the new English-language Master's degree programme will be available starting November 2025.

Interested parties can find out more about the content, entry requirements and career prospects in an online webinar on 29 October 2025 at 13:00, where they will receive answers to their questions.
