This course is designed for doctoral researchers to enhance their advanced skills in scholarly literature searching and resource acquisition. It focuses on applying these competencies systematically to support individual research projects and is particularly recommended during the early stages of the doctoral program. Topics include advanced literature and information searching, strategic use of research tools and databases, and the evaluation and citation of diverse sources.
Course Goals:
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1. Conduct advanced, systematic searches of scholarly literature relevant to their research.
2. Strategically use research tools and databases to identify and access high-quality sources.
3. Critically evaluate different types of sources for relevance, reliability, and academic rigor.
4. Accurately cite and manage references in alignment with scholarly standards.
5. Integrate literature search strategies into their own doctoral research projects effectively.
Participants are requested to bring their laptops to take part in the course’s practical exercises.
