Registering a student society
If you would like to be listed in the University's student societies directory, you must register as an official student society.
How does registration work?
Send a letter to Michael Groß, Department IV/1, University of Passau, 94030 Passau, to register your group in the University's register of university groups. If you scan this signed letter, you can also send it by e-mail. The letter must contain the following information:
- the goals of your group
- the (planned) activities of your group
- the structure of your group
- the admission criteria for group members
- the number of group members who are students at the University of Passau*
Please also enclose the following with your letter:
- completed and signed Student society registration or re-registration form
- (if they exist) Articles of association or other written regulations of your group
*Note: According to the decision of the University Executive on 20 June 2018, only student societies with a minimum number of 7 members can be registered or have their registration extended (analogous to Section 56 BGB, minimum number of members of the association).
How can my student society remain in the student societies directory?
To remain listed in the directory, you must inform us of the current details of your group's contact persons from 1 June to 15 July of each year.
Please use the University of Passau's student society registration/re-registration form scan and send the signed and completed form to Michael.Gross@uni-passau.de. We ask you to please complete the form electronically.
Note
If you do not inform us of your group's contact persons by the deadline, you may lose the status of an official student society and all associated benefits.
What are the advantages of registering?
If you register your group, you have the following advantages:
- simplified use of university rooms and notice boards
