'Study and Stay in Bavaria' is a joint initiative of the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Bavarian State Ministry of Education, Science and the Arts in co-operation with the Bavarian universities.

It is mainly aimed at encouraging international students at Bavarian higher education institutions to stay in Bavaria after they graduate.

Further details can be found on the Work-in-Bavaria website.

For details on residence permits, visit the Federal Office for Migration

German law makers have amended the German residence laws to include 'employment' as a purpose of stay. This shows that facilitating the introduction of international employees to the German labour market is part of the Federal Government's demographic strategy. Recent amendments to the immigration laws have gradually expanded the possibilities for qualified professionals and it is hoped that this will encourage international job-seekers to contribute their skills and knowledge.

EURES - European cooperation network of employment services

EURES is the European cooperation network of employment services, designed to facilitate the free movement of workers.
