Dr. Sládek is a PICAIS Fellow at the University of Passau (Host: Prof. Dr. Matthias Kranz) and faculty member at the University of Defence in Brno. His research focuses on data-driven forecasting, environmental modelling, and the integration of machine learning with physical understanding.
In his talk, “Representing 4D Dynamics in Machine Learning,” he addresses the challenge of compressing complex spatiotemporal data for use in machine learning models while preserving predictive power. The lecture will discuss approaches such as autoencoders, feature extraction, and dimensionality reduction, with a particular emphasis on model interpretability and physically meaningful representations.
The session consists of a 40-minute presentation followed by discussion.
More information on his talk can be found in the flyer.
