Self-defence course for university members

A self-defence course open to all university members, regardless of gender and gender identity, will be taking place on 25 and 26 May.

The workshop will teach you simple, easy-to-learn and, above all, effective techniques that will help you gain (some) control over a physically or psychologically violent situation and assert yourself. In this, your own safety is always the top priority. The following will be covered:

  • Tactics for deescalating violent situations
  • Techniques for parrying or warding off punches
  • Liberation techniques to break various types of holds using reasonable force
  • Distance behaviour and types of movements in a standing position
  • Questions about specific situations are welcome

Coaches Bekim Prenaj and Federico Marrone both have many years of experience in self-defence under their belt. Kathrin Schopf will assist the two coaches and provide interpretation into English. You can sign up via Stud.IP:
