Roughly 11,000,000 tonnes of food waste are produced in Germany every year (source: BMEL [German content]). The association Foodsharing e.V. [German content] has been campaigning for food appreciation and a reduction in food waste for years. The University of Passau wants to support this initiative. Due to the interest expressed by students and with the support of the Sustainability Hub and Facilities Management, a public food rack or "Fairteiler" has now been set up in the NK copy room R226, where you can leave and pick up edible foodstuff for free.

You will find more information on site and on the Fairteiler website [German content].
