This article explores how Søren Kierkegaard's theological anthropology informed the reconstruction of Christian humanism among mid-twentieth-century Catholic thinkers, specifically Romano Guardini and Cornelio Fabro. It highlights Guardini's existential analysis of modern spiritual issues, which he adapted into a liturgical vision of hope, and Fabro's interpretation of Kierkegaard's metaphysical realism within a Thomistic framework.

During his PICAIS Fellowship hosted by Prof. Dr. Markus Weißer from May to July 2025, he examined the eschatological perspectives of Søren Kierkegaard and Karl Rahner.

Currently, Dr. Furnal is a permanent lecturer of Systematic Theology at St. Patrick’s Pontifical University, Maynooth.

We congratulate Dr. Furnal on his significant research contribution and look forward to continuing our collaboration.
