Civil defence siren test on 9 March

A Bavaria-wide siren test will be held tomorrow, Thursday, at 11 a.m. The purpose of the test alarm is to check the functionality of the civil defence siren system and to make the population aware of the importance of the siren signals.

| Reading time: 1 min.

The signal you will be hearing at this siren test is the one alerting the general public to a public announcement concerning a local danger. The rising and falling wail of the sirens will last one minute. Its purpose is to notify people of serious threats to public safety and get them to switch on their radio sets and listen out for announcements. Tomorrow you will not need to take any action when you hear the alarm, as it is only a test.
