Yes. You can participate in more than one project. If you're interested, please indicate this in the comment field when you register. It's also possible to continue working on the same project over several semesters or to switch to a different project at a later date.
AYCD sees itself as a matching platform: The program connects students with organizations and on-campus projects seeking volunteer support. AYCD itself does not carry out its own projects, but rather provides the organizational framework—including guidance, supervision, and support throughout the entire semester.
Yes. After the project is completed and you’ve attended the AYCD closing event, you’ll need to fill out the final feedback form online and submit your AYCD Pass via email (where you’ll enter the number of hours you’ve completed). You’ll then receive your certificate from the International Support Services.
Yes, but those projects are marked as such. For all other projects, German isn't a requirement, and you shouldn't feel self-conscious. Still, AYCD is the perfect opportunity to overcome your fear of speaking German.
It is possible to earn ECTS credits by participating in projects officially designated as “service learning.” These projects often include an accompanying seminar or course, and successful completion may be recognized for ECTS credits. It is also possible to recognize the time invested in your project for Practica recognition.
Please discuss the conditions for ECTS recognition with your programme coordinator before registering. ECTS credits are not awarded directly by AYCD but are handled by your programme coordinator.
Regardless of ECTS eligibility, you will receive an AYCD volunteer certificate upon completion of the project.
