Invitation: God and Food – an inter-religious conversation

Food plays an important role in various ways in all religions. For instance, Hinduism, Judaism, Islam and Christianity all have traditions about certain foods, such as the manner in which they should be consumed, whether they are indeed acceptable as a food, and fasting periods, where people should consciously refrain from enjoying specific foods for a certain amount of time.

In this event, which will be hosted by Katrina Jordan, representatives of different religions will talk about their experiences, followed by a question round where audience members can ask their own questions. This event is the latest in the "Typically Protestant – Typically Catholic" series organised jointly by the Catholic and Protestant Student Communities, and has been extended to include non-Christian religions.

Guests are Ms Sonja Sibbor-Heissmann (Protestant Student Community Passau), Mr Andreas Erndl (Catholic Student Community Passau), Ms Klara Kohn (Jüdische Gemeinde Hannover) and Mr Harethe El Ouadhane (Islamisches Zentrum Regensburg).

This event will start at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, 25 May and is open to students and members of the general public, regardless of confession, world view or creed. Please note that this event will be held in German. You can register via Stud.IP code 69100 or by sending an email to diversity@uni-passau.de.
