Programme details

This Master’s programme combines intercultural communication and cultural studies with management, entrepreneurship and modern research methods. It comprises four module areas:

Module area A: Core modules

These are the academic and methodological foundations of your studies, covering cultural theory, intercultural management and research methods in business administration and cultural studies.

Module area B: Specialisation in Culture and Interculturality

Deepen your cultural studies perspective on the issues that matter today: intercultural futures research, globalisation, cultural diversity and the interplay of culture, society and communication.

Module area C: Specialisations in Management and/or Entrepreneurship

Develop your business profile and choose modules from the fields of management and/or entrepreneurship, such as innovation, strategy, organisation theory and sustainable leadership. Those with a particular interest in start-ups and innovation can also incorporate the "Honours Degree in Entrepreneurship" certificate programme into their degree programme.

Module area D: Transfer and Practice

Put your knowledge into practice and gain hands-on experience within the University and beyond. Take part in the Intercultural Summer Academy / Intercultural Futures Lab, complete an applied or research project – either of which can also be undertaken as a work placement – or benefit from the highly regarded subject-specific language programmes offered by the University’s Language Centre.

You will write your Master's thesis in one of the subjects within your chosen specialisations.
