University repository RADAR Passau

About the repository

The University of Passau utilizes the repository service RADAR as part of its institutional research data management and has, on this basis, licensed the institutional repository RADAR Passau.

The RESEARCH DATA REPOSITORY is operated by FIZ Karlsruhe – Leibniz Institute for Information Infrastructure and supports the archiving and publication of research data from completed scientific projects across a range of disciplines. It is particularly intended for research areas that lack dedicated, discipline-specific research data management infrastructures.

RADAR Passau additionally enables the prior review of research data and the enrichment of datasets with metadata. In doing so, it aims not only to ensure the long-term availability of archived data, but also to facilitate access to and reuse of published data in accordance with the FAIR principles.

To access the login page, click on "LOGIN]" in the header of the RADAR homepage. Two login options are available:

For the recommended login via 'your institutional account', select University of Passau from the dropdown menu on the left-hand column. Authentication is then carried out using your ZIM ID.

Alternatively, login via 'your RADAR account' requires initial registration with a new username and your institutional email address (…@uni-passau.de). After completing the online registration form, you will receive a confirmation email containing a verification link and further instructions.

The publication and archiving of research data in the RADAR Passau repository is available to all researchers affiliated with the University of Passau. Access to and use of RADAR Passau are free of charge. However, depending on the volume of storage required, additional fees may be incurred for the preservation and publication of the data. It is therefore advisable to account for these costs at the beginning of the research process and, for example, to include them in third-party funding applications.

Both the "License and User Instructions for Data Providers" and the "Terms for Data Users" issued by RADAR – FIZ Karlsruhe – Leibniz Institute for Information Infrastructure apply.

Personal or personally identifiable data must not be uploaded to RADAR Passau. Researchers are responsible for ensuring the anonymization of their data.
